Discussion Room - Rules and Booking Policy

You are now in the IJN University College Discussion Room—a platform for constructive academic discussions and knowledge sharing. Kindly follow the provided discussion guidelines, maintain professionalism, and respect the policies set to ensure a positive and supportive learning experience.

1. Booking & Eligibility

  • The discussion room is for students and staff of the institution only.
  • Booking must be made in advance through online system (Outlook/Teams). (Click Here)
  • Walk in use in allowed only when the room is not booked.

2. Conduct Inside the Room

  • Keep noise at a reasonable level to avoid disturbing others.
  • No food is allowed; drinks must be covered.
  • Do not move furniture outside the room
  • Handle library equipment carefully (power, sockets & chairs).

3. Group Size

  • Minimum 3 persons per booking. 
  • Maximum number of users depends on room capacity (e.g., 4-6 persons)

4. Usage Duration

  • Keep noise at a reasonable level to avoid disturbing others.
  • No food is allowed; drinks must be covered.
  • Do not move furniture outside the room
  • Handle library equipment carefully (power, sockets & chairs).

5. Cleanliness

  • Please clean up after use.
  • Dispose of rubbish and return furniture to its original position.

6. Punctuality

  • Users must arrive within 5 minutes of the booking time. 
  • If late, the booking will be automatically released to others.

7. Safety & Security

  • Do not leave personal belongings unattended
  • Library is not responsible for lost or damaged items.

8. Technology & Facilities

  • Users are responsible for operating equipment properly
  • Report any technical issues to library staff immediately

9. Prohibited Activities

  • Sleeping, hosting parties, or activities unrelated to academic work.
  • Commercial or external meetings without permission
  • Unethical behaviour (e.g., intimate acts, inappropriate closeness/”berdua-duaan”)

10. Penalties

  • Users who violate the guidelines may face:
    – Suspension of booking privileges
    – Penalties/fines for damages
    – Reporting to relevant departments (if necessary)
