About the Programme
The Diploma in Nursing is a three-year programme designed to prepare students to become competent, compassionate, and professional Registered Nurses who are committed to delivering safe, ethical, and high-quality patient care.
The programme provides a strong foundation in nursing sciences, clinical practice, patient care, professional ethics, and evidence-based nursing. Academic learning is integrated with simulation-based education and extensive supervised clinical training, enabling students to progressively develop the knowledge, practical skills, confidence, and professional judgement required for nursing practice.
Emphasis is placed on patient-centred care, patient safety, effective communication, critical thinking, teamwork, clinical decision-making, and professional accountability.
Students undertake clinical placements at Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Ministry of Health hospitals, and other approved healthcare institutions, gaining valuable hands-on experience across a range of clinical settings and patient care environments.
Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are eligible to sit for the Malaysian Nursing Board (Lembaga Jururawat Malaysia, LJM) Licensing Examination. Those who successfully meet the applicable registration requirements may practise as Registered Nurses in Malaysia.
