About the Programme
The Advanced Diploma in Cardiac Emergencies is designed for Registered Nurses and Medical Assistant seeking to develop advanced clinical competencies in the assessment, management, and care of patients experiencing in cardiac emergencies.
The programme addresses the growing demand for highly skilled nurses and medical assistant who can respond effectively in high-acuity, time-critical, and complex emergency care environments.
The curriculum integrates evidence-based theoretical learning with intensive clinical training, preparing students to rapidly assess patients, recognise clinical deterioration, prioritise care, interpret relevant clinical data, perform appropriate nursing interventions, and respond confidently to complex cardiovascular and medical emergencies.
Particular emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning, emergency response, advanced cardiac care, critical decision-making, leadership, communication, teamwork, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Through supervised clinical placements in specialised cardiac and emergency settings, students gain the confidence and professional competence required to manage critically ill patients and contribute effectively to improving patient outcomes.
The programme will encourage students to develop knowledge, skills synthesis and evaluation that they can used in social, professional and academic life, and in lifelong learning. Students will be thought the latest art of technologies and in-depth knowledge. They will be equipped with the highest competency and standard in the field of related area and discipline.

Entry Requirement
LOCAL STUDENT
i. Possess Diploma in Medical Assistant recognized by Medical Assistant Board; OR
ii. Possess Diploma in Paramedic from recognized Malaysian institution; OR
iii. Possess Diploma in Nursing recognized by Malaysian Nursing Board.
iv. Minimum ONE (1) year clinical working experience.
v. Possess THREE (3) months experience in the related specialty.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
i. Possess Diploma in Medical Assistant from recognized institution; OR
ii. Possess Diploma in Paramedic recognized from international institution body; OR
iii. Possess Post Graduate Medical from any medical bodies; OR
iv. Possess a current temporary practicing certificate (TPC) from prior clinical placement.
v. Minimum of TWO (2) years clinical working experience in the related specialty; OR
vi. Possess THREE (3) months experience in the related specialty.
vii. Pass International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum of 5.5 or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum of 515/215/80
Clinical Practical
Clinical training may be conducted in:
- Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU)
- Coronary Care Unit (CCU)
- High Dependency Unit (HDU)
- Emergency and Trauma Department
- Cardiac Wards
- Infection Control Unit
- Pediatric ICU
These placements provide exposure to complex cardiac and emergency cases and strengthen competencies in clinical assessment, emergency response, advanced life support, patient monitoring, and critical decision-making.
