About the Program

The Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Technology (Honours) prepares graduates with the scientific knowledge, technical expertise, and practical skills required to support the development, manufacture, quality assurance, regulation, and innovation of pharmaceutical and healthcare products. The programme is designed to meet the growing demand for highly skilled professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and healthcare industries.

Unlike a professional pharmacy degree, which focuses primarily  preparing graduates for registration and practice as pharmacists, this programme emphasises the science and technology behind pharmaceutical products throughout their lifecycle, from formulation and product development to manufacturing, quality management, regulatory compliance and commercialization.

The curriculum integrates pharmaceutical sciences with laboratory-based learning, research, industrial exposure and practical training. Students develop competencies in pharmaceutical manufacturing, formulation technology, product development, quality assurance, quality control, process validation, regulatory affairs, research methodologies, and emerging technologies within the pharmaceutical industry.

Delivered by experienced academics and industry practitioners, the programme fosters scientific thinking, innovation, critical thinking, ethical practice, and problem-solving skills. Graduates are equipped to contribute to the advancement of pharmaceutical products and healthcare technologies while meeting national and international industry standards.
