About the Programme
The Diploma in Physiotherapy is a three-year programme designed to prepare students to become competent Physiotherapy Assistants, equipped with the knowledge, clinical competencies, and practical skills required to support physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation services.
The programme integrates academic learning with extensive hands-on clinical training, providing students with a strong foundation in human anatomy, physiology, movement sciences, rehabilitation, and evidence-based rehabilitation practice.
Students develop competencies in assisting with physical function assessment and supporting physiotherapy interventions and rehabilitation across diverse clinical conditions. The curriculum covers therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, electrotherapy, rehabilitation techniques, patient education, and health promotion. Students are also exposed to digital health technologies and interprofessional learning to prepare them for the evolving healthcare environment. Through supervised clinical placements, students gain valuable real-world experience while developing the professional competence, communication skills, critical thinking, and ethical values required to support the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.
Upon graduation, students are prepared to work as Physiotherapy Assistants, supporting physiotherapists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in helping patients restore movement, improve physical function, enhance independence, and achieve a better quality of life.

To instill positive attitudes, ethics, a sense of professionalism, ICT,management, entrepreneurship, teamwork, communication, social interaction, and leadership skills as a competent physiotherapist.
Entry Requirement
LOCAL STUDENT
i. SPM with PASS in Bahasa Malaysia and English and FIVE (5) credits in the following subjects:
– Mathematics
– ONE (1) science subject (Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science); and
– Any other THREE (3) subjects (including Bahasa Malaysia and/or English).
OR
ii. GCE/ O Level with PASS in Bahasa Malaysia or English and FIVE (5) Grade C in the following subjects:
– Mathematics
– ONE (1) science subject (Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science); and
– Any other THREE (3) subjects (including Bahasa Malaysia and/or English).
OR
iii. Certificate (Level 3, MQF) related to Health Sciences with minimum CGPA 2.75
