IJN University College Physiotherapy Students Explore Hydrotherapy Techniques in Collaboration with MINDEF

Oct 6, 2025

On 6 October 2025, the Physiotherapy Programme of IJN University College successfully conducted a Hydrotherapy Course in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF).

The course was conducted by Captain Balqis Maryamatunnisa Binti Ab Kahar, who shared her expertise in various hydrotherapy methods including Watsu, Ai Chi, Halliwick Concept, and the Bad Ragaz Ring Method.

The session provided students with hands-on exposure to therapeutic water-based techniques designed to promote relaxation, reduce pain, enhance joint mobility, and strengthen muscles. These exercises utilize the buoyancy and resistance of water, offering effective rehabilitation and recovery benefits for patients.

Through this collaboration, IJN University College continues to emphasize the importance of practical learning and industry partnerships in enhancing the knowledge and skills of future physiotherapists.

This initiative reflects IJN University College’s commitment to advancing health sciences education and promoting innovative rehabilitation techniques that align with global healthcare standards.
