Students from the Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Technology and Diploma in Pharmacy programmes at IJN University College (IJNUC) recently participated in an educational visit to Biotropics Berhad Malaysia, a leading company in herbal and natural products manufacturing.
The visit was organised as part of IJNUC’s continuous effort to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry practices. It provided students with valuable exposure to the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the development and production of herbal and natural-based healthcare products.
During the visit, students were introduced to various stages of the manufacturing process, including raw material selection, quality control, formulation, and packaging. They also gained insights into regulatory compliance and industry standards that govern the production of natural health products in Malaysia.
This hands-on experience allowed students to better understand how theoretical knowledge is applied in a professional setting. It also highlighted the growing importance of herbal and natural products within the global pharmaceutical landscape.
The educational visit not only enriched students’ learning experience but also strengthened their awareness of career opportunities within the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. IJN University College remains committed to producing competent, industry-ready graduates through experiential learning initiatives such as this.
