CSR Initiative Brings Festive Cheer to the Elderly Ahead of Chinese New Year

Feb 19, 2026

Kajang, 14 February 2025 — The Faculty of Managerial Sciences (FMS) of IJN University College, in collaboration with Pertubuhan Al-Wakeel, successfully organised a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme at Rumah Sincerecare, aiming to bring festive warmth and joy to the elderly residents in preparation for the Chinese New Year.

The CSR initiative reflects IJN University College’s strong commitment to community engagement, compassion, and holistic education beyond the classroom. Through meaningful volunteerism, students and staff worked together to create a more comfortable and cheerful living environment for the residents.

As part of the programme, volunteers participated in house painting and beautification works, enhancing the overall surroundings of the home. In addition, meal preparation activities were carried out to ensure residents could enjoy nutritious and thoughtfully prepared food, fostering a sense of care and togetherness during the festive season.

This collaboration with Pertubuhan Al-Wakeel highlights the importance of partnerships between educational institutions and community-based organisations in addressing social needs. The initiative not only benefited the residents of Rumah Sincerecare but also provided valuable experiential learning opportunities for students, nurturing empathy, teamwork, and social responsibility.

IJN University College remains dedicated to empowering its students to become socially conscious graduates while continuing to support initiatives that uplift communities and strengthen social well-being.
